Kainchi Dham

Kainchi, Uttarakhand, India

Set among the Kumaon hills of Uttarakhand, Kainchi Dham grew around a place Maharaj-ji visited in the early 1960s. The first temple was inaugurated in June 1964. Devotees gather here for darshan and worship, and June 15 is marked as Pratishtha Divas, the temple's consecration anniversary. The ashram is closely tied to Maharaj-ji's life and to the devotees, including Ram Dass, who spent time with him here. The Shree Kainchi Hanuman Mandir Trust administers the site.
