Kainchi Dham
AshramIndia

Kainchi Dham

Set among the Kumaon hills of Uttarakhand, Kainchi Dham grew around a place Maharaj-ji visited in the early 1960s. The first temple was inaugurated in June 1964. Devotees gather here for darshan and worship, and June 15 is marked as Pratishtha Divas, the temple's consecration anniversary. The ashram is closely tied to Maharaj-ji's life and to the devotees, including Ram Dass, who spent time with him here. The Shree Kainchi Hanuman Mandir Trust administers the site. For current visiting guidance, use the Trust's official website; do not assume overnight accommodation is available. Ashram Brindavon

Durgamayi Ma founded Brindavon Ashram in Ulm in 1999, naming it for the Indian city of Vrindavan where she first met her Guru, Neem Karoli Baba. The townhouse became a home for her community and a center of shared spiritual practice as the satsang grew. The ground-floor temple area includes spaces dedicated to Maharaj-ji, Hanuman and several other spiritual figures. Members of Ma's community live at Brindavon; her association also runs the newer Sri Neem Karoli Baba Mandir across the Danube in Neu-Ulm. Both are disciple-lineage centers, distinct from Maharaj-ji's Indian ashrams.

Hanuman Garhi Ashram and Temple

Hanuman Garhi stands on a ridge about two kilometers from Nainital, with wide views on clear days. A devotee account dates its inauguration to 1951 and describes it as reportedly the first temple established by Maharaj-ji. That makes the site part of the early history of his temples in the Kumaon hills. Hanuman worship shapes the daily rhythm here, with arati described in the morning and evening. Visitors should check the temple for current practice times. This is a temple visit rather than an invitation to stay overnight; the source says ashram lodging is restricted.

Neeb Karori Ashram and Maharaj-ji's Cave

This village is closely bound to Maharaj-ji's story: his familiar names Neem Karoli and Neeb Karori come from it. According to the Taos ashram's history, he lived here as a sadhu for roughly twenty years, until about 1938. The ashram and cave lie off the more traveled pilgrim routes of Uttar Pradesh.
